Pompey/Draco Sword

This awesome heavy resin sword is of the same type used by Pompey in Endgame and by Draco in various episodes. This goes wonderfully with my Pompey scabbard. Nice construction as usual by the propmasters.

Gabrielle's Metal Katana -FIN

This may be my favorite prop weapon of all time. This is the metal katana used by Gabrielle in the series finale, Friend in Need. I also have a resin version, but this metal sword is a true testament to the amazing craftsmanship of the prop department. Check out the detail etched into the blade! Gab draws this sword for her closeup in the scene when she defends Xena from the Ghost Killer, who she thinks at that time is an enemy.

There has been some confusion over some of the militia swords sold after the show ended. Most of them went to the Turner sale, but Gab's did not. Gab's katana is very easily distinguishable from the Higuchi Militia katanas even though they had some blue on them. Gab's were all sold through IAW (online Yahoo auction), and all have the blue cloth tied to them. The other militia katanas are bluish for the Higuchi warriors, yellow for the bad guys :-). Gabrielle's sword accents were also a slightly different shade.

The IAW COA for this one states that it is Gabrielle's metal militia katana from the Final Episodes. Lovely (and functional) sword!

Harukata-The Ghost Killer's Metal Sword-FIN

Beautiful item, this is the sword used by the Ghost Killer (Harukata) working with Xena in Friend in Need, and also picked up by Yodoshi to fight Xena in the closing scenes. The gorgeous sword is all metal and is very heavy. Sold to a friend of mine by a crew member from the set in NZ, and shipped from NZ to me. This sword is also very long and the tip is very sharp.

Varia/Livia Sword and Sheath

This is a wonderful, medium-weight resin prop sword with lovely detail on the hilt. This gold-handled sword was seen used by Livia and also by Varia in Path of Vengeance when it was revealed that Ares gave her the sword. The sheath is an Amazon-style sheath that Varia carries the sword in and can be clearly seen in many parts of the episode, especially near the end when she walks away after choosing not to kill Xena. FIN Katanas

Here is a set of one-piece (can't be removed from the sheath) katanas from Friend in Need. The blue one is from the Higuchi army, the yellow from the Yodoshi militia and the red one, well, we're not sure. It is definitely not Xena's, as hers were a solid red hilt with a different pattern. These are all made of heavy resin and are quite detailed and solid.

Xena's Trach Dagger from "Doctor" and "Destiny" and "Prometheus"

A beautiful resin dagger seen in the episodes "Is There a Doctor in the House" (used by Xena in the scene where she opens up the side of a soldier's lung to get a pig's bladder inserted so they can give him artificial respiration, Warrior Princess style) and by M'Lila in "Destiny" (when she throws two of them at the cross Xena is tied to in order to free her), and (thanks CHERI!!) by Xena in Prometheus to perform (what else) a tracheotomy!
Often called the "Tracheotomy dagger" (due to the "Doctor in the House" procedures), there were a couple of different styles of this dagger made. I have the other style as well, which can be seen in the "Weapons" section. The difference is this: The style used by "Evil Xena" in some of the flashback episodes has metal rivets where the green jewels are. Otherwise the basic dagger design is the same.

Xena FIN Metal Higuchi Militia Katana

All I can say is...WOW. What a beautiful sword! This was obtained at the IAW online sale and is a metal version of the Higuchi militia katanas. The blade is not sharp but is very shiny and has a lovely intricate design etched into the blade. The sheath is separate and has its own detailed dragon-themed design. There is a slight blue tinge to the metal accents. This sword is exceptionally heavy. There were many different katanas used in FIN. The blue tinged versions were carried by the Higuchi Militia, of which Gabrielle was the leader after Xena went after Miromoto. Gab's sword is a Higuchi Militia sword but the propmasters used a blue cloth on her katana to distinguish it from the rest of the army's weapons. In some cases the blue cloth is glued on so as to not come off. If you have a sword without the blue cloth (only a handful were made), it is not a Gab sword but a Higuchi Militia sword. I have a resin version of Gabrielle's katana also in this section but it does not have the same detail as the metal versions. Check out Barbie's blog; she has Gab's metal katana from the IAW sale. The craftsmanship on them both is simply stunning.

FIN FX/Stunt Spear Toppers

Here are a couple of FX pieces from Friend In Need Part 2. When Xena is fighting the entire Japa army by herself(you go, girl!) and she cuts a path through the warriors with her katana, in the process of disarming a group of them, she grabs a handful of their spears and breaks them over her knee. The pieces fall to the ground and stick up out of the ground. These pieces are made of a hard but lightweight resin and have a heavy metal rod through them where they separate from the staff when Xena breaks them. In the screencap, there are yellow silk pieces tied around the groove just below the rod. Thanks Cheri for the great screencaps! These were also spotted in FIN part 1 in the hut where Xena gets the katana for the first time. Miromoto also catches one when Xena breaks it.

FIN Red and Black Stunt Katanas

Stunt katanas from the series finale, Friend in Need. These are sooooo cool...hard to describe just how great they look in person! Each one is made of a heavy resin material with leather wrapped handles. The end where the blade would be is "sealed," so these were most likely used in the sheaths and were not designed to be removed. Great craftsmanship!Since the ends are deliberately “sealed,” we suspect they were not meant to be drawn or wielded. It is possible that they were used by the drum beaters right before Xena is first attacked by Yodoshi’s army arrows coming at her but it is not definite that this is where they were used. They do look to be the same style and size but this is merely a guess.

Xena's Cut-Off Sword!

Here is a lovely and treasured item! This is a broken (cut-off) version of Xena's signature sword, originally purchased from the IAW online Yahoo sales back in 2001. The COA from IAW states this sword to be "Xena's Longer Broken Sword." There were a few episodes in which Xena's sword was broken, and I'm not sure exactly which one this particular sword was used in. It is made of a very hard resin and is fairly heavy for only being a partial sword. The paua shells and details are all intact. Gorgeous prop!

Amazon Helicon Sword #2

I'm pleased to add a second Amazon Helicon sword to my collection. This one is made of a lightweight resin/plasticy hilt with a cool design and a heavier resin emblem that is partially worn down on the end. The blade is heavy resin and this sword has more weight to it than I expected. The hilt is black. There were several different colored hilts made, possibly to indicate rank although we did see Varia using a black handled one in "Helicon," so I am not sure. Gab's was very light honey colored, the other amazon queens such as Cyane (the new Cyane) had a lighter colored one too that was more amber than honey, then I've seen light and dark brown, and black.

Kali (The Way) Dagger

This wonderful resin dagger is most notably seen in the Xena episode, "The Way." Xena (as Kali) gets this style of dagger shoved through one of her hands during a fight. See my other posting for the FX dagger that matches. Thanks to C-TABA for a great trade! By the way, trading props can be a fun and inexpensive way of acquiring new items in this economy. Barbie will list your item for trade at no cost to you, and then other collectors who are interested in it will contact you with a list of items that they have for trade. This dagger has some very interesting patterns on the hilt and a reddish/burgandy color (subtle) to the hilt design.

Xena "The Way" Special Effects (FX) Dagger

A rare FX prop, as most of them can be dubbed. I love finding the special effects items! We believe this is the dagger used in the Way when Xena (as Kali) gets it "pushed" through her hand. This was obtained in NZ from a friend who got it directly from a crew member. It is made of hard resin and the FX part is metal. Sweet!

Queen Varia Spear

This is such a lovely and well-detailed prop that I know my photos cannot do it justice! This is the spear (or one of them) carried by Queen Varia as she addresses the Amazon council in Path of Vengeance. There were usually more than one of a prop made in case of breakage, which is why one-off props are so rare. This prop is made of polished wood and heavy resin, with a lovely resin "jewel" in the spearhead and wooden beads as accents. Truly one of the crowning pieces in my collection! This spear is broken in the center and the very end of the spear is missing. I was told it was thrown out by the crew member who owned it because they thought nobody would want to save the broken end! We believe this is the spear that was broken by Gabrielle (over her knee) in her challenge to Varia as the onscreen scene shows it broken in the same exact place. If so, then the fact that it is broken only adds to its "value" in the eyes of this collector. Enjoy!

Valkyrie Sword

Here it is, home at last! A beautifully crafted sword used by the Valkyries in the trilogy episodes. This one is made of hard resin and is beautifully detailed with gold paint on the detail of the blade.

Amazon Helicon Sword

These style swords were only seen in the "Helicon" episode....this is a gorgeous little sword with a light colored hilt made of resin and the blade is foam. There were several different colored hilts; probably according to rank. The warriors had mostly dark brown or black handled swords, the higher ranking amazons light brown or some variation of honey. Only Gab's was exceptionally light. Mine looks like the same variation as shown in the screencap above with Cyane's (Morgan Reese Fairhead)character.

Amazon Spear

An Amazon spear, just AWESOME! The spearhead is solid resin, with raffia decorations. The rest of the spear is solid wood. Approximately 8 feet long. This spear is easily recognizable in just about every Amazon episode in the series, including the Quest, one of my very favorites!

Resin Xena Tracheotomy Dagger

This lovely dagger is mounted in a special presentation. It was obtained at a Creation Xena convention charity auction. The dagger is made of resin with metal accents and was signed by Lucy for the charity auction. Lucy's signature is in red on the blade of the dagger. This hung in the Creation offices for a couple years before being auctioned off. This is one of my favorite props!

This dagger was seen in the Debt, when Xena threw one like it at Lao Ma, and also was used by "Evil Xena" as shown in the picture included with the presentation. In addition, the Prop-a-Dile Hunter Cheri found Xena using it in "A Comedy of Eros." This one differentiates from the "trach dagger" used in Destiny and Doctor by the fact that it has metal rivets where the green jewels are in the other daggers. Glyphera Dagger

This great little resin dagger was most prominently seen used by Glyphera in the Dirty Half Dozen. She throws many of them, repeatedly, in the episode. It is also the same style as seen used by some romans.

Electroplated Roman/Livia?Callisto/Velasca Dagger

This dagger is of the same style used by many characters, including, Xena, Livia, Callisto, etc. A similar style was thrown by Velasca at Gabrielle in The Quest. This one feels like metal and "sings" like it when tapped against another metal object, but appears to be heavy resin that has been electroplated. It is an interesting material that I have not encountered before.

Amazon Chobo Stick

This neat chobo stick is made of wood with leather and peacock feather accents. Seen most prominently in Hooves and Harlots used by Xena but also handled by Gab and Velasca in the Quest.

Amazon Longbow

Large Amazon Club

A very beautiful large amazon club made of heavy resin with a metal rod at the core. Gorgeous design; amazing attention to detail. Approximately three feet long. Seen briefly in the episode, "Lifeblood," and in the episode, Path of Vengeance, the weapon is carried by one of the amazons assigned to escort Eve back to the amazon camp.

Centaur Horse Head Dagger

One of my favorite pieces, this very heavy dagger is about 17 inches long and is made of an extremely heavy resin material. It has an impressive horsehead design on the hilt. The tip is broken off, but that does not really detract from the beauty of this piece. Similar equine designs were used by the Centaurs in the Herc ep, Centaur, Mentor, Journey, and the screencap shows this dagger in that episode.

Gabrielle's Blue Militia Katana-Final Episodes

Just an absolutely stunning item that I am very happy to have added to my collection! This beautiful sword was purchased directly from the It's a Wrap wardrobe sales in 2001/2002 and the IAW COA says "Gabrielle's Militia Katana-Final Episodes." This lovely sword is made of hard resin over a metal core and has a cool dragon emblem that makes up part of the hilt. The hilt is wrapped in black leather with a blue ribbon on part of the handle. Gabrielle carried this style katana briefly after the infamous "30 seconds" scene in FIN 1 and she has it in her hand as she walks into the woods in search of Xena; where she finds Xena's bloody chakram and then later, when she meets up with Xena's ghost, she wields the sword to protect Xena. It is only after she gets the dragon tattoo that she takes the red handled sacred katana. I love Gab's outfit in this episode!

Solan's Sword/10 Little Warlords Sword

A really nice, heavy resin sword, this was spotted by Barbie (Thanks Barbie!) in the Xena Season 2 season opener, "Orphan of War." It is the same style sword used by Xena's son Solan (David Taylor). This sword was also used briefly in the Xena episode, "Ten Little Warlords" by the warlord that tried to kill Xena (in Callisto's body at the time) on Sisyphus's island. There are some missing green resin "stones" in the design, but part of the leftover resin is still there. Much of the green color can also be seen on Solan's sword in many scenes.

Roman Sword and Sheath

Thanks to my good friend Barbie from Xena Prop House, I was able to acquire this wonderful Roman sword and matching sheath to marry up with my Brutus costume! This truly makes the cossie "complete!" THANKS BARBIE!! I will post photos of the costume in it's permanent display when the display is finished. This wonderful sword is made of resin over a metal rod and has a lot of intricate detail on the hilt; typical of the beautiful craftsmanship of the Xena propmasters in NZ. The blade shows definite signs of set wear, so this one was most likely used in some scenes onscreen. Roman costumes and weapons were common and seen in many episodes throughout the series six-year run. The scabbard is made of leather with metal rivets, and is also a typical roman style scabbard shown in such episodes as When Fates Collide and Endgame. Brutus carried this style sword and sheath, and this particular weapon will be happily displayed with the rest of the Brutus costume.

Philemon's Dagger

Very nice looking roman style dagger with leather wrapped handle. Made of heavy resin. Great design just below the hilt! This dagger was ID'd by my good pal and fellow kindred spirit CHERI, thanks CHERI! Cheri is a prop-finding goddess and spotted this dagger in the Xena ep, Warrior, Princess. It belongs to Philemon and is briefly handled by Xena. Screencap to follow.

Death Mask Sword

Sword standard issue for castle guards, etc. in many Xena and Herc eps. I found this specific model in the Xena ep, "Death Mask." Xena, her brother Toris, and various castle guards used the same model sword in this episode. Resin over a metal rod.

Xena Fallen Angel Archangel Sword

This is one of my favorite pieces; seen in the Xena Season 5 episode "Fallen Angel." This type of sword was carried by Xena and the archangels and this one is made of resin over a metal rod.
